03.02.10 “Oskar” award – 2010

There were announced two nominees for the most prestigious award in the world of cinema – “Oskar” on February, 2 which is awarded by American Academy of Motion Picture Arts.


Official name is Academy Awards of merit. Award celebrates the outstanding achievements and contribution to the art films that were in the film calendar year award, according to the rules in these categories.


Oscar statuette height 34 cm, weighing 3.85 kg and is made of gold-plated alloy Britain and rests on a pedestal of black marble. It depicts a knight with a sword, standing on a tape reel.


The golden statuette was presented at the first ceremony in the form it exits at the present time but the name "Oscar" has appeared only in 1939 since that time Academy Award is known under this name and is considered the most prestigious award in the field of cinema in the world.

The ceremony “Oskar” will be held on March 7 in Los Angeles.

  • “Utomlennye solntsem” (1994) by Nikita Mihalkov.
